Welcome to TradeAFavour.net

"Trade a Favour" offers a service where people can trade their skills with each other. You can save yourself time and money using this service, no more DIY! You can get others to do tasks that you can't, or are reluctant to, do yourself. It's similar to the old style barter system, except with skills. You do a job for someone that they can't do, they do something for you that you can't do; everybody wins! It's easy to use and very cheap (ads are free at the moment). Simply sign up, submit an ad saying what skill(s) you have and what you need done. Then wait for a reply. Though if you want to cut down the waiting time or if it's urgent, you can subscribe to the service and then you can canvas other members who have agreed to it. Canvass is done thru the site's subscription areas.

The inspiration for this website came from the story of how, on July 12, 2005, Kyle MacDonald began a quest. Starting with one red paperclip he made a series of trades until, on July 12, 2006, he was able to make a final trade for a house! You can read his amazing story here.

Trade a Favour works on the same principle, trading something that you have for something that you want, (or need). Here on this website you can trade your skills for the skills of others, a favour for a favour. Can you make a similar success story to Kyle's by trading just your skills?

You have skills that someone else may need, or want, to avail themselves of, and they have skills that you may need. Almost everybody uses the phrase "Can you do me a favour?" Through this website you can ask anybody with an Internet connection to "do me a favour".

N.B. No affiliation with Kyle MacDonald, One Red Paperclip, or any other of his projects is implied or intended. Thanks are offered for the gracious use of some of his content.
